USB Flash drives remained a much sought-after promotional gifts especially for our high tech clients. Operation Gratitude - Sending Care Packages to U.S. Troops

"Operation Gratitude was started by Carolyn Blashek, a 50 year old attorney and Mom around 2003. After 9-11, she tried to enlist in any branch of the Armed Services and was turned down. She went on to volunteer at the USO. While there, she met a soldier who was about to be deployed and he was saying that one of the hardest things was that he didn't have anyone back home who would care about him. I seem to remember his parents had passed away and he had been recently divorced.  Carolyn immediately got his info and "adopted" him. That's what started it all - what this lady has done for the troops has been unbelievable. I first met her when I had a bunch of hand-knit watch caps to be distributed. My daughter's neighbor was a Navy surgeon, and knowing that I was a knitter, asked if I could make some for his group that was being deployed to Afghanistan. I called some friends in the industry and between us we made over 1000 hats!! When he cam home we kept making them for Operation Gratitude.

This has been a really wonderful experience for me too!! A few months ago, a young man came in our office, and asked for me. When I went out to meet him, he pulled one of the hats I made out of his pocket and asked if it looked familiar. He had received it in Iraq and came in to thank me. He had gone to the trouble of tracking me down - trust me there wasn't a dry eye in the house!! And to top it all off, he asked if there was anything he could ever do for me!! Amazing!

These young people are the best of America as far as I'm concerned and we should all be so grateful for what they do for us every day!!"
