Looking Forward to Good Things

These are trivial things..but sometimes, that's all I can afford.  I am looking forward.

Who would've thought it would come to this.  This is gonna be fun. The Lakers and theLakers Celtics are headed to the NBA Finals. So much to look forward to!! This is when I become a fan!

I look forward to a 7-game series and Kobe Bryant taking the trophy. Go Lakers!

And then...I look forward toBrown Big Brown winning the Triple Crown.  Go Big Brown!

And then we're headed to the East Coast to visit some clients and spend a weekend with family.  We are headed east to close on a promotional campaign for a big chain hotel.  The travel process will take u525523s to New York and a night on Broadway to watch "Wicked".  Go Green Witch!

And then to the ocean. I look forward to spending some time with my brother and sister-in-law in Connecticut by their home overlooking the Long Island Sound and casting a fishing pole over the deck to catch fish after fish.  And sitting by the deck drinking our morning cup of coffee while listening  to the waves pounding the sea wall - and getting some sun into our legs that have turned white over winter. And many more summer made memories by The Deck.  Go Summer!

I am looking forward to planning my grandson's first birthday party.  We've celebrated his 'monthsaries' but can't wait until he can dig into his first birthday cake.  You'll see pictures.  Go Cake!

Right now we are savoring a really good week.  It was productive and energizing.  I makes me believe that hard work can and does result in quality business.  When we have hard earned good weeks like we just had, it always causes me to stop and reflect at how -really - I could've written a book on the Law of Attraction (big secret!) - and ''Business by Sheer Faith and Good Will" [the title of the book in my head].

For now, we are headed over to the Cherry Festival - music, arts and crafts, wine, dance, Farmers Market - a wonderful Saturday event for the family!  Go Weekend!!  You gotta love it!!

Michelin Hotel & Restaurant Guide - The PERFECT Gift

A new supplier to the promotional / ad specialty industry (did I miss them in previous shows?) - the THE MICHELIN GUIDE has been called by USA TODAY as the ''gastronomic bible for international travelers''. I have the San Francisco Bay Area & Wine Country Guide and  just went through it.  If I may say so, I am really motivated to check out these restaurants that are so close by!  The Michelin hotel and restaurant reviewers have done a fantastic job. The guide reflects a variety of culinary establishments and hotel scenes, all rated by Michelin (yes, the Michelin Man is on the front cover!). The reviews were done anonymously so you can't get any more real than that!   Culinary establishments were rated and classified accoring to decor, ambience, table settings and quality of service.  They're rated from Good to Exceptional; Modest to Luxurious; and price ranges for all budgets. Maps of San Francisco and the surrounding cities are on the front (street map) and back cover (city map) Both fold out, you won't need another map.  Restaurants

These guides are available now for corporate branding and imprinting in the front cover. It makes a PERFECT gift for out of town guests. If you're hosting out of town or international visitors, hand them a guide to your city as a WELCOME gift when they check into their hotel room, or when they visit you at headquarters. The guide cover can also be customized with your own story. This guide should be a corporate staple. It is absolutely the most useful gift you can give to an out of town or foreign guest.  It has just the right amount of information a traveler can digest in a short amount of time -- and information that will entice them to return.

BRANDING - Coming to a Corner Near You?

What does it take to generate business traffic these days?  On a sunny, pleasant day in California - not much - just  a POWER brand, the smell of java and a van.

Sbwheels

At the boat show @ Jack London Square today, there was a line of people waiting for a cup of coffee.  They were brewing coffee inside the van and it could've been any kind of coffee for all ya know [shrugging shoulders].  But with the new logo in BROWN and a banner, folks were curious.Img_1772 I've never seen Starbucks On Wheels and I hope this is NOT part of their new Marketng strategy!  I don't know if the coffee was free or if they were selling it, but the van was not very pleasing to the eye (one side was really rusty). Others may not have noticed, but I did.  I had to look at it from the total Marketing perspective.

But.. it's a perfect example of the power of BRANDING -  subliminal messaging works.

Ahhhhh... innovation.

Is this the new lemonade stand? Will you find it soon at a corner near you?

BTW ... I don't know if I like the new logo.

I did find a boat I liked, though.  I had the Dreamer's Disease.
