USB Flash drives remained a much sought-after promotional gifts especially for our high tech clients. The BPA Saga Continues

While the controversy continues - YOU, the consumer, have been heard loudly!  I do expect the FDA to eventually reverse their finding.  BPA Free is here now, and a no-brainer, really.

The Washington Post has just published an article based on additional reports regarding the controversial chemical known as Bisphenol A or BPA.  The chemical is found in polycarbonate bottles, usually those with a Recycle 7 code underneath the bottle.  The research, published yesterday in the Journal of the American Medical Association by a team of British and American scientists, compared the health status of 1,455 men and women with the levels of the chemical, known as BPA, in their system.

While the FDA continues to assert that the bottles do not pose a threat to the general public, we have been urging clients and readers to err on the side of caution for many reasons, mainly:

• BPA Free products are available in the market.  Tritan copolyester bottles made by Camelbak and Nalgene are now available; PETE plastic, is also widely available too.
• Children - they depend on us to keep them safe.  Safe baby bottles are readily available in the market and new mothers should consider these when bottle feeding or for sippy cups.
• Replacing single water use bottles.  Our landfills are full and plastic bottles litter playgrounds, sport arenas, beaches.  Please consider reusable bottles which are affordable.
• Based on the WP article above, The FDA maintains that BPA is safe largely on the basis of two studies funded by the chemical industry, a fact that was repeatedly cited at yesterday's forum.It is our belief that it's just a matter of time before the chemical will be banned by the FDA.  Our goal is not political - we are just proponents for HEALTH and SAFETY and Environmental Responsibility.

Bisphenol-A (BPA) - Flip Flop News

If you've been following our blog, you'll know we are very strong proponents of SAFE and safely-made drinking bottles.  We are also advocates in reducing the need and use of single-serving water bottles that have invaded our grocery aisles. 

A few months ago, the FDA released it's FDA OPINION and advisory on Bisphenol A or BPA, a controversial chemical found in plastic bottles. They were of the opinion that the levels found in most bottles did not pose a substantial risk to humans 'until further notice'.

For us, that was enough of a concern and we had stated many months ago that we would NOT promote or sell any plastic water bottle unless it was SAFE.   It left us with the following options.

Triton CoPolyester (used in Camelbak, they had the patent first)..and subsequently other manufacturers removed the chemical in their products.  PETE plastic was also safe and cost much less.  Aluminim bottles have invaded the industry (knock off from SIGG bottles) and stainless steel is available from our most reputable manufacturer.

Corporations, organizations, schools, colleges and universities continue to show their concern.

A recent YALE STUDY now has presented it's own opinion, indicating changes found in brain activity (in monkeys).  The BPA bottom line is that we're seeing conflicting reports and we urge everyone to err on the side of caution.

Early Childhood Training - Mom Approved

We have now officially begun training our third generation!  Inspecting QUALITY  and STYLE and having an eye for what feels good, tastes good, smells good, looks good and sounds good starts very early.

I mean - really early!  Our future CEO is on the hunt for his birthday apparel.  Right now, he's a visual creature...but he'll get the hang of it. The imprint on the back of his shirt pretty much tells you what he thinks of his job!!   We'll give him a few years!
