Towel Cake - Skip the Calories

I'm a big fan of creativity and here are more ideas for 'different' promotions.

I just signed up with a gym yesterday and they gave me a bag full of 'goodies'.  A white logo'd t-shirt, two water bottles and a small towel.  All useful and staple gifts.  I tried to think what would make a fun gift with membership (or gift with purchase) product and came up with these (since most people who start exercising want to LOSE WEIGHT)

These may look tempting, but it may also enable someone to FOCUS on their goal.  Giving up the real high calorie goodies for a while until they get to where they want to be.

Of course, these eco-friendly goodies can be used for other occasions.  I've featured some ideas in an earlier blog entry but I found these other cute ones and wanted to share them with you as the packaging is different.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that everyone's feeling the pinch these days.  It might seem to you that everyone's so serious or thinking too hard ~ but on a recent out of town working vacation, we discovered how to laugh again.  We missed it for a while and it was good to step back from the forest and discover how beautiful the trees were again.

Exciteable, Type A personality.

The Obama Democrat: Smart, already began training as a rocket scientist at 9 months old. Escape artist so learns early on how to get away from sticky situations.. Savvy dresser and will not wear the American Flag because he is forced to. Favorite toy: flip flops of daddy but mama says no-no. Quite an avid musician. Lousy bowler. Extremely social and charming and can reach out to the other aisle and negotiate by shaking his head.  Expert at sign language (milk and more).  Will socialize until all the guests leaves.   

The Clinton Machine Parts: Lives in West Virginia but visit California. White woman baby not quite earning $50,000 yet.  Dying to pop the champagne  beer but daddy might have drunk it all already. Has animal friends in Kentucky who vote..   Cannot wait till June. Might vote for McCain if Clinton doesn't win. .

Being Outdoors

Are you ready for the OUTDOORS?  I am!  Today I took pictures of cherry blossoms on our street, a beautiful rose just about to bloom and a neighbor's fence covered with white potato bush flowers.  It was a nice reminder of spring and the outdoors.  While I haven't gotten the itch to 'clean' yet..I did pack up most of our winter wear.  And with that, I began my search for cool outdoor gift ideas.

The Boss Is Coming To Town

Workin' hard is something we do, but we also like to party hard - especially when The Boss comes to town!  Sunday we have tickets to see Springsteen when he returns for his second leg of his "Magic" tour.

Cannot wait!  Here's where my 'groupie-ness' comes out. It's strange watching shows, though.  I have a hard time paying $35 for the t-shirts. Can't count how many times we've seen him - and followed him, but 'eh..it keeps us young!

Ya gotta love that!

CONCERT REVIEW - UPDATE 4/5/08 - Springsteen ROCKED the San Jose Arena on Saturday, April 5.  The show was packed with fans hoping to see a revived E Street Band.  The concert last October left one feeling like the group was 'aging up'..but that was NOT what happened on Saturday.

Bruuuuuce  came with a set list (handwritten on the left) in mind but very quickly ventured off the list.  Lucky fans who were able to get into the pit had obviously done their research and came with signs and song requests which The Boss was all too willing to oblige (See asterisks below)

The Boss and the Band are BAD!!!!!!!!  This is up there in our list of favorites...way on top of our list!

IN MEMORIAM - [Updated 4/18/08) We were saddened to hear that Danny Federici, E-Street Bank keyboardist and long time part of the group passed away on April 18, 2008 after his battle with cancer. He will be missed.  Please say a prayer for his family, for the band members.   The Professor, as he is often referred to by The Boss will long be remembered for his talent and inspiration.  Rest in peace, Danny.
