The Best Promotional Products for 2008

2008 was a very green year.  Green in terms of promotional product inquiries, sales and interests.  We started this blog almost a year ago after we attended the PPAI tradeshow in January.  We knew then that environmentally appropriate gifts would be popular and we were pleasantly surprised at what soon unfolded.

When we began our blog, not much was said about BPA Free drinkware.  We saw it very early on, beginning with baby bottles (thanks to our little man, Nate!).  It soon made it's way into the promo industry and we picked up early.  As a result, these safe, Bisphenol-A free products were our hottest sellers!  Universities and corporations were quick to engage.  We have seen aluminum bottles come right on the heels of Camelbak bottles (first to be FREE).  Sigg bottles were once hot, and then surprisingly were replaced by similar looking bottles.  I was surprised that they stopped taking custom orders on their website.

USB Flash drives remained a much sought-after promotional gifts especially for our high tech clients. While prices fluctuated, our customers were always pleased at our resourcefulness as we were able to score attractive looking flash drives from some of our preferred suppliers.  Quality was never compromised.  We even turned one order around in three days!

Certified Organic Apparel - What's It Is

Your 100% Cotton Shirt is not all natural. It it's plant stage, some tweaking may have been added to the growth process.  If you're like me - it's a learning thing.

Until you compare a regular 100% cotton shirt or t-shirt and a truly Certified Organic one, consider yourself as definitely missing out on pure affordable luxury.  There is no comparison to the feel, texture and uber comfort of the CERTIFIED kind.  It's what COTTON was meant to be - in it's purest state.  Prepare to fall in love (as in...where were you all these years!)

100% certified Organic cotton. That means that the fabric MUST contain 100% organically produced cotton. (The seams are sewn with polyester threads, but the shirt fabric is 100% organic cotton.) Here's how it's produced differently than traditional cotton:

TRADITIONAL COTTON - On many tradtional cotton farms, because of the depletion of nutrients and use of pesticides, the soil is most often sterile, meaning that the farms rely on additives, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, plus vast quantities of water to keep growing.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC - Organic farming restores and builds up the soil, increasing its organic content, which in turn increases its water-sustaining ability. The rich, moist earth results in stronger plants, which improve the soil even more. Far less water runs off organic fields, and what does is not polluted with pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

    

NO CHEMICALS OR PESTICIDES - EVER

Conventionally grown cotton consumes 25% of the insecticides and more than 10% of the pesticides used in the WORLD today! Conventional farming devours roughly 150 grams of pesticides and fertilizers to produce enough cotton for a single T-shirt.  This is something you don't even think about - but should!
