LA Lakers Fans Too Cool for T-Shirts?

Warriors fans BELIEVED.  Celtics fans want to BEAT LA.  What do the Lakers fans want to do?

Watching the NBA Finals from a different perspective.  Last year, I remember the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs and there was a HUMONGOUS t-shirt billboard in front of and as big as the Oakland Arena with a big "We Believe" imprint. The arena was filled with gold (yellow) shirted fans excited to see their team get as far as they did.  It sure was a fun series. Fans wore the shirts with fervor burning!   

This weekend was the start of the Lakers vs Celtics match-up with build up footage of the old legendary rivalry - memories of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.  The day before Game One in Boston, t-shirts were awaiting each fan in every seat. White tees with a huge ''BEAT LA'' imprint in Celtic green.  The crowd was shamrock green and white.  Celtics are up 2-zip in the series.

I'm watching Game Three - NO T-SHIRTS FOR LA FANS?  What's up, Lakers Fans!  Too cool for shirts?   I see Kobe - and I see Jack, maybe I'll see Dyan and a lot of celebrities (Sly Stallone, Dustin Hoffman, Eddie Murphy, Spike Lee and even Wall-E)...but I don't see purple and gold in the arena!!

I love Buttons - and Big Brown

And I think this is a special horse! Go Big Brown!

My husband came home for a few minutes to give me this button because he knows I think this is a really special horse.  I hope he wins this Saturday and then go on to live a life of champagne wishes and caviar dreams - meaning lots of hay, carrots and tender loving care.

We are going to be glued and pretty nervous watching the Belmont this weekend - with a great chance for this sweet horse to become a Triple Crown winner

Beijing 2008 Olympics

While I was writing about sports (and NCAA), I just remembered that this is an Olympic year.  The Summer Games will be held in Beijing.  It might interest you to know that the James Logan Marching & Color Band from Union City, California are among our youth representing the USA.  Please visit their site.  They are currently accepting donations to help offset the costs for each member.  We should be extremely proud of these hardworking and talented kids.  As American Olympic ambassadors they will be meeting youth from all over the world. This will certainly be an enriching and memorable experience for all of them.

The mascot for the Games is Fuwa.

Game Crazy!

Are you ready for some BASKETBALL?  Ya gotta love this game, and the kids who play. We just finished watching the last minute of the Duke (71) and Belmont (70) game.  I told you!!  This isn't the season for the faint of heart - but it's the best for avid sports afficionados.  It's all day madness and it is only Day One!
